Manually Find and Initiate Installation of Linux Updates

It's a Linux week here at Riston Headquarters!

Recently, we spoke about clearing the /boot mount in order to perform a do-release-upgrade, and that seemed to get us going right away! However, the nice thing about that situation was that we were being prompted for the installation!

But, what if we want to just check manually? No problem!

sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

All of these will find updates and get them on your system. Be sure to reboot afterwards to clean up any hanging items!
sudo shutdown -r now

Have a great day everyone!
